CG Lock
CG Lock
Another project taken on by Xero, was for that of CG Lock, a product that holds the tension of a lapbelt as part of a 3 point seatbelt. This in theory holds the base of it's occupant firmly in the seat, and prevents trackday drivers (using standard 3 point belts) being thrown around in their cars. It also provides and anchoring point for children in child seats.
The inventor and owner of the CG Lock product wanted a low cost seat he could take to events, which would simulate the basic movements of a car. Thus demonstrating to potential customers the viability of his new product at shows and such like.
The sprung chair was prototyped in wood, before being made in steel and powdercoated to give it a hardwearing and professional finish.
