LMP2 Simulator

After being approached by a wll known LMP2 team, Xero's composite department was asked to make a simulator based on a lola chassis to which the bodywork from an actual LMP2 car could be fitted to make it look like a real car. A 42" plasma screen was hung in front of the car, to give the driver a visual representation.

Lola kindly leant the mould tool for their LMP chassis to Xero, so we could replicate the chassis in fibre glass, to form the basis of the simulator. From this, wooden batons were glassed in to hold in place; the computer to drive the simulator, the steering wheel and pedals and the seat.

A cover was made to encase the computer unit, with an acces panel to enable storage of a keyboard (to set the simulator up).
