Composites

Xero Composites exists as it's own modern department, but runs alongside Xero Motorsport.

Xero Composites specialise in manufacture and production and repair of composite parts ie, Glass fibre and Carbon Fibre, the maufacturing processes utilise both wet lay up and pre-preg materials, and produce patterns, moulds, and parts using vacuum consolidation and heat/pressure curing methods.

Parts are usually made out of:

Glass fibre woven and CSM reinforcement (using either polyester or vinylester matricies)

Carbon fibre woven reinforcement (using polyester or epoxy matricies)

Z-preg (a pre-impregnated material used for body panels which give an easier to paint finish, but still a tough lightweight carbon fibre part)

Kevlar reinforcement (using polyester or epoxy matricies)

Aramid reinforcement - a carbon/kevlar mixed woven material (using polyester or epoxy matricies)

Xero Composites use giant ovens to process the parts, these are programmable to control both cure time and temperature depending on the material/part application. To give an idea of the scale that Xero Composites work to, every panel on the Xero Motorsport Corvette has been produced by Xero Composites from a light pod to the rear section, it's all been made in house.
